Literacy is a bridge from misery to hope. ~ Kofi Annan
I was not up for promotion to the first grade because of some delays and learning difficulties in my reading skills. I recall my mother sending me to tutoring sessions, frequent library visits, and a heavy concentration of reading materials in our home. I developed a love for reading and recognized its importance in opening any door for my future. I started reading and tutoring to underserved and international children and participating in book drives and literacy campaigns, leading me to start Ania Talks Consulting. I have developed book campaigns, participated in panel discussions, created book logs, essay contests, am a writing coach, and was a National Advisory Board Member for Teen Ink Magazine.
My goal is to identify, collaborate, build a strategy and implement change while leaving a lasting impact. ~ Kelsie Tillage
The beautiful thing about learning is that no one can take it away from you. ~B.B. King
Kelsie has been inspirational to the Gardere Youth Coalition. The opportunity to submit essays on Uncommon Opinions was eye-opening to our youth who never thought that their words could be published and read by thousands! Kelsie's openness to share her experiences in a conversational manner easily connects with our youth.
